Daughters of the King is my first book, which is being published in January 2027 by Authentic Media. It tells the story of the charity I founded in 2011, the Princess Project, and what God has done through it, and in me, since then. It describes what happens when a normal, unremarkable person steps out in obedience with what God has put in her hand, and gets to witness the awesome faithfulness of God as a result.
You may I ask what qualifies me to write this book. The honest answer is that I’m probably not qualified to write it in worldly terms. I am a veterinary surgeon by training, and have learned everything else on the job. I haven’t completed any formal theological study. I haven’t been taught to write since I sat my English GCSE some considerable time ago. I am not a celebrity; I don’t have a dramatic testimony. I am just a regular person, much like the the vast majority of readers; a Christian trying my best to live for Jesus where God has placed me, bringing him what is in my hand and being privileged to see him multiply that meagre offering far beyond anything I could have imagined. God has showed me time and time again that it’s not about me, but it’s all about him- all I have to do is be willing, and available. I really hope that resonates with people.
We have all read books that, although inspiring and encouraging, seem to so far outside our own experience that we cannot relate to them. Dramatic stories that stir our faith, but leave us coming away saying
“How amazing!”
closely followed by
“I could never do that.”
My vision for this book has always been the opposite of that; for readers to come away thinking
“If she can do that, maybe I can too!”
because they realise that God delights in using everyday people like you and me to do little things that in their own small way can change the world.
I am a first-time author and so the whole publication process is proving to be an exciting journey of discovery. If you’d like to journey with me and be the first to know what’s happening with the book then why not subscribe and receive monthly email updates- I’d love to have you as part of the crew!
